We mentioned it last month, and now the Broad Ripple Winter Market is officially underway. Among the eighteen vendors that are currently listed on the website, there is plenty of variety meaning you can pick up fresh veggies, meats, cheeses, and even prepared goods like breads and pastries, honey and maple, or coffee and tea. Bent Rail is offering a breakfast menu during the market, which was a already a huge success last week during the inaugural market day. We encourage you to check it on Saturday mornings from 9am to noon this winter.
Coming next May is the Garfield Park Farmers Market. Founders Ashley Brooks of Milktooth and Julia Woody believe that this market will fill a need for residents of downtown and the neighborhoods on the southeast side, who don’t have a Saturday morning farmers market nearby during the warmer season (this time of year there is the Indy Winter Farmers Market downtown). The market has the support of nearby South Circle Farms and the arts and community focused Big Car organization, which recently relocated to the neighborhood. If you’d like to support a market that will be offering items grown by local farmers, please check out their GoFundMe page and donate to this new startup market.
